Bright Bold Boundless: Designing the Queen's Baton was an exhibition that explored the design story behind the innovative Queen’s Baton for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Designed, engineered and manufactured by Brisbane-based Designworks, the GC2018 Queen’s Baton drew inspiration from the boundless energy of the people, place and spirit of the Gold Coast.
In the display, visitors were able to see the inner workings of a contemporary design practice and the intricacies of designing a meaningful symbol, as demonstrated by the design process undertaken to develop the GC 2018 Queen’s Baton.
The exhibition was in the Asia Pacific Design Library, State Library of Queensland from 1 March – 28 October 2018.
